“Gorde has taken two seemingly unrelated mediums and crafted them into something entirely new. BEING GORDY is an immersive experience that combines the best tropes of classic sitcoms with the comic format that feels both familiar and innovative at the same time. Nothing short of genius.”

Cartoonist –
“Lost Angels” & “Spectral”,

“Five stars for including an Earth-shaking Drake’s Devil Dogs plot point! I haven’t seen such a riveting pastry-centric narrative since Windsor McCay’s 1905 Little Nemo in Slumberland! But seriously ... this book has a LOT of heart and soul. Read it today!”

Okay, so ... here’s the quick back-story on BEING GORDY, A Situation Comedy.

BEING GORDY was originally created with the goal of daily comic strip newspaper syndication. That didn’t work out, but I believed in this property and these characters I created. My entire life I have loved three things — comic books, comic strips, and TV situation comedy. Once I made the leap and fully embraced all three together, I ended up with the following ... a TV show in comic book form, and with a comic strip sensibility to it. Each of my stories or “episodes” are tributes to my favorite sitcoms of the past. The “pilot” issue starts things off by paying homage to the classic 1970’s TV show “The Odd Couple” produced by the legendary Garry Marshall.

Welcome to BEING GORDY, A Situation Comedy.

Hey there! So ... my name is Dave Gordon and I am the creator, writer and artist of BEING GORDY, A Situation Comedy. I answer to the pen name “Gorde.” Growing up, Gordy was my nickname, but everybody spelled it with an “e” instead of a “y”, so I just kept it. It was easier than correcting people all the time ...
