Fellow comics creator Chris Anderson invited me on his podcast to do a prole of BEING GORDY, A Situation Comedy. This was my first time ever doing a podcast, and thanks to Chris I really enjoyed the experience. Chris is the artist on a couple of very cool independent graphic novels — Lost Angels and Spectral. If you don’t know them, please check them out today! For those books and more of Chris’s, his own website is chrisandersoncomics.com. And check out his Chris Anderson Comics Creator Commentary and Comic Book Gene Pool podcasts on YouTube for a plethora great comics conversation. A big thanks to my friend Matt King for setting this up.

First Podcast REVIEW:

The Comic Book Bears Podcast

January 6, 2025

I was surprised last night by an unexpected podcast review of BEING GORDY, A Situation Comedy by Bill Zanowitz and his cohorts over at Comic Book Bears. I first met Bill at one of the early New York Comic Cons. We were both waiting in line to meeting a great contemporary comics writer James Robinson, of 1990’s Starman fame. Bill was one of my Kickstarter supporters when I launched BEING GORDY. And now this wonderful surprise review. Let it be said that you meet really great people at comic conventions. Thanks for all your support, Bill! Hope to see you at another Con soon! To get right to the review, jump to the 1 hour and 40 minute mark.

Chris Anderson Comicbook Gene Pool — A Profile of Angel & The Ape

January 6, 2025

Fellow comics creator Chris Anderson invited me back on his podcast ... this time to do a fun profile of one of my all-time favorite comics — Angel And The Ape #1, published in the late 1960’s by DC Comics. I’m a big fan of the cartoonist who drew the book —
Bob Oksner. If there was a comedy book published by DC Comics, Bob drew many issues of it. I find it sad that there isn’t any kind of coffee table book honoring this man’s extensive catalogue of work. Beyond Angel And The Ape, my favorite of his work can be found in the following titles:

The Adventures of Bob Hope, The Adventures of Jerry Lewis, The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis, Welcome Back Kotter and Stanley And His Monster.

Tales To Enlighten by Matt King

January 6, 2025

I want to give a shout out to my close friend and fellow comic creator Matt King.
Matt and I first met where all people should meet — a comic book store. Since that time, Matt has written and produced two wonderfully-twisted graphic novels — Tales To Enlighten, Volumes 1 and 2. I have some work in both volumes. If you’re a big fan of independent comics, then track these books down. You can find Matt online on Facebook and Instagram, or meet him at the next Indie Comics Creator Con in New Haven, CT. Matt has always been a huge supporter of my work, and I’m only too happy to return the favor. Still waiting on that next book, Matt! ;)

Chris Anderson Comicbook Gene Pool — A Profile of Manhunter 2070

January 6, 2025

Chris Anderson invited me back on his podcast ... this time to profile of another
personal favorite — Manhunter 2070 — from my all-time favorite comic book title —
the original run of DC’s Showcase Comics. I have several reasons for loving Manhunter 2070, but most of all because it was drawn by the great silver age cartoonist Mike Sekowsky. Talking about this legendary illustrator and his work on this title with Chris was a great deal of fun, so please check it out. And remember ... “Beware of the Red-Haired Greenies!!”
